Seven Deadlock Guide (2026): Build, Abilities & Storm Cloud
Learn Seven abilities, the current Spirit build, skill priority, Power Surge pressure, Storm Cloud timing, item choices, and counterplay.
Sustained area pressure, punishing grouped enemies, and scaling Spirit damage
Updated July 21, 2026: Seven is a low-complexity mystic who fills lanes and objectives with Lightning Ball, sets delayed stuns through Static Charge, turns gunfire into bouncing Spirit damage with Power Surge, and channels the large Storm Cloud ultimate.
Seven is easy to understand and harder to place well. Every ability becomes stronger when enemies must share space, so map pressure, chokes, objectives, and allied control matter more than pressing the largest circle on cooldown.
Current meta snapshot: Tracklock’s standard-mode, all-rank table showed Seven at a 32.78% pick rate and 54.08% win rate when checked July 21. These numbers move as matches arrive; they explain why this guide exists, not what every future patch will look like.
Seven At A Glance
| Question | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Game-data type | Mystic |
| Practical role | Scaling area-damage mystic, Spirit shredder, and grouped-team punisher |
| Complexity | 1 of 3 |
| Starting health | 730 |
| Move speed and stamina | 6.7 m/s and 3 stamina |
| Best at | Sustained area pressure, punishing grouped enemies, and scaling Spirit damage |
| Main risk | Long cooldowns, visible channels, and relying on enemies to remain inside the damage zone |
Seven Abilities
| Slot | Ability | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lightning Ball | Sends a straight-moving ball that damages all targets in its radius, slows while hitting enemies, and stops against the world. | Push a lane, cover a choke, force movement, or layer damage on a controlled target. |
| 2 | Static Charge | Places a delayed charge on an enemy hero that later stuns and damages nearby enemies. | Force a target away from allies or combine the delay with friendly burst. |
| 3 | Power Surge | Empowers bullets to trigger Spirit shock damage that bounces to nearby enemies once per burst. | Pressure grouped enemies and maintain output while other abilities occupy space. |
| 4 | Storm Cloud | Channels an expanding damaging storm around Seven; enemies outside line of sight do not take damage. | Control an objective or choke after enemy interrupts and escape paths are limited. |
Storm Cloud is not global punishment: line of sight matters. Static Charge can make a marked player separate from teammates, while Lightning Ball and Power Surge benefit when they fail to do so.
Best Seven Ability Order
Tracklock’s largest completed skill-max route on the July 9 patch prioritized:
- Power Surge
- Lightning Ball
- Storm Cloud
- Static Charge
The largest completed route maxes Power Surge first. Lightning Ball-first routes can make sense when wave pressure and repeatable area control are the immediate priorities.
Seven Build
| Stage | Current popular package | What it supports |
|---|---|---|
| Early | Suppressor, Monster Rounds, Cultist Sacrifice, Enchanter's Emblem | Supports farming, early Spirit pressure, and safer scaling into the core. |
| Core | Mystic Vulnerability, Spirit Lifesteal, Healbane, Escalating Exposure | Builds sustained Spirit damage, shred, healing, and anti-sustain around repeated hits. |
| Late | Superior Duration, Unstoppable, Spiritual Overflow, Boundless Spirit | Extends major windows, protects the channel, and scales late Spirit output. |
Seven's current pro sample is small, so the item table is directional. The larger standard sample strongly supports his current win-rate position, but a 41-game pro item window should not be sold as certainty.
This is a dated route, not a shopping script. Check the live Seven pro-build sample, compare alternatives in the Deadlock builds guide, and use the items guide when the enemy composition demands a counter purchase.
Situational Purchases
- Buy Unstoppable or control protection when Storm Cloud is interrupted immediately.
- Use Healbane when the enemy front line heals through repeated Spirit damage.
- Add movement or durability when the team cannot protect Seven's channel position.
How To Play Seven
Lane
Use Lightning Ball through the wave and enemy route rather than throwing it into empty space. Build safe gun pressure with Power Surge and use Static Charge to break the opponent's preferred position.
Mid Game
Farm efficiently without arriving late to every objective. Seven scales through items, but his area tools are most valuable when the map forces both teams into the same space.
Teamfights
Mark a target with Static Charge, pressure the group with Ball and Power Surge, then channel Storm Cloud only after line of sight, interruption, and escape routes have been considered.
Late Game
Position behind terrain that protects the channel without blocking your own damage. One well-timed Cloud can decide the objective; one exposed Cloud can remove Seven before the scaling matters.
Seven Combos And Fight Patterns
- Lane pressure: Lightning Ball through the wave, Power Surge while enemies reposition, then Static Charge the target that cannot leave cleanly.
- Grouped fight: Static Charge one enemy, layer Lightning Ball, activate Power Surge, then Storm Cloud after control and line of sight are secured.
- Objective defense: send Ball through the entrance, hold Static Charge for the first committed hero, and channel Cloud from protected elevation or cover.
Seven Strengths And Weaknesses

How To Counter Seven
- Break line of sight with terrain during Storm Cloud.
- Save hard control or displacement for the channel.
- Spread after Static Charge marks a teammate.
- Pressure Seven before he reaches the expensive Spirit core.
- Approach from more than one angle so Lightning Ball cannot cover every route.
Common Seven Mistakes
- Channeling Storm Cloud where walls block its own damage.
- Ignoring Static Charge spacing and stunning no additional target.
- Farming through the moment the objective fight starts.
- Building only Spirit damage without channel protection.
- Throwing Lightning Ball into paths enemies do not need to use.
Seven Lore
Seven escaped Lost Whisper after an execution protected by seven nations' strongest wards failed spectacularly. He survived the attempt to destroy his soul and headed for New York laughing about what came next.

Seven FAQ
Is Seven beginner friendly?
Seven is complexity 1 of 3. His abilities are readable, but positioning Storm Cloud and managing line of sight still separate useful pressure from a wasted channel.
What should Seven upgrade first?
The largest current completed route maxes Power Surge, then Lightning Ball, Storm Cloud, and Static Charge.
Does Storm Cloud work through walls?
No. Current game data says enemies do not take Storm Cloud damage while outside Seven's line of sight.
What counters Seven?
Line-of-sight breaks, saved interruption, spread positioning, and early pressure before his Spirit core all reduce his strongest patterns.
Sources And Methodology
Hero type, complexity, starting stats, ability names, and ability descriptions were checked July 21, 2026 against the current Deadlock API asset data. That independent project parses the live game files; it is not Valve.
The meta snapshot comes from Tracklock’s standard hero table. The item package comes from its rolling 41-game Seven pro sample, and the skill priority comes from completed normal matches on the July 9 patch. Tracklock says it captures a large proportion of matches, not every match. Pick rate, win rate, item frequency, and completed-build win rate answer different questions and must not be treated as interchangeable proof.
Valve’s July 9, 2026 update is the current official patch reference. Deadlock remains in active development, so recheck the live build and patch notes before copying a route into a later version.
