Wraith Deadlock Guide (2026): Build, Abilities & Telekinesis
Learn Wraith abilities, the current hybrid build, skill priority, card pressure, teleport routes, Telekinesis picks, and counterplay.
Locking one target in place, unloading a fire-rate window, and teleporting away before retaliation arrives
Updated July 21, 2026: Wraith is a low-complexity marksman who earns homing cards through weapon damage, teleports into or out of position, boosts fire rate, and lifts a priority enemy with Telekinesis.
Wraith wants a private damage window. Card Trick adds pressure without abandoning gun scaling, Project Mind decides the angle, Full Auto turns time on target into damage, and Telekinesis prevents one enemy from answering while the magazine and cards arrive.
Current meta snapshot: Tracklock’s standard-mode, all-rank table showed Wraith at a 38.75% pick rate and 50.50% win rate when checked July 21. These numbers move as matches arrive; they explain why this guide exists, not what every future patch will look like.
Wraith At A Glance
| Question | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Game-data type | Marksman |
| Practical role | Single-target marksman, card-burst skirmisher, teleporting pick threat, and isolation specialist |
| Complexity | 1 of 3 |
| Starting health | 730 |
| Move speed and stamina | 7.2 m/s and 3 stamina |
| Best at | Locking one target in place, unloading a fire-rate window, and teleporting away before retaliation arrives |
| Main risk | Committing Project Mind before the target is controlled or taking a prolonged front-line fight with low starting health |
Wraith Abilities
| Slot | Ability | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Card Trick | Weapon damage summons cards of random suits; thrown cards home toward the crosshair target and apply suit-dependent effects. | Bank pressure through accurate gunfire, then layer cards into a controlled target or finish someone leaving line of sight. |
| 2 | Project Mind | Teleports Wraith to a targeted location. | Create the attack angle after control begins, cross terrain, or preserve the ability as the exit from a committed duel. |
| 3 | Full Auto | Temporarily increases fire rate and adds bonus Spirit damage. | Activate when the target is controlled or exposed long enough to convert the whole fire-rate window. |
| 4 | Telekinesis | Lifts an enemy hero, interrupting and silencing them, then slams the target toward a chosen location. | Start the pick, interrupt an important ability, or move one enemy into Wraith's prepared damage line. |
The simplest Wraith sequence is control followed by damage, but Project Mind timing decides whether the character feels safe or fragile. Use Telekinesis to create time, Full Auto to exploit it, and cards to maintain pressure without teleporting into a fight that has not been solved.
Best Wraith Ability Order
Tracklock’s largest completed skill-max route on the July 9 patch prioritized:
- Card Trick
- Full Auto
- Project Mind
- Telekinesis
The largest completed route maxes the repeatable card damage first and the fire-rate steroid second. Project Mind still defines Wraith's safety at base value; later upgrades are not permission to spend the teleport carelessly.
Wraith Build
| Stage | Current popular package | What it supports |
|---|---|---|
| Early | Quicksilver Reload, Extra Spirit, Monster Rounds, Recharging Rush | Supports card cycles, lane economy, Spirit scaling, and smoother weapon uptime. |
| Core | Surge of Power, Ricochet, Dispel Magic, Fortitude | Creates a hybrid damage spike, spreads weapon value, removes defensive effects, and adds health for committed picks. |
| Late | Mercurial Magnum, Spirit Lifesteal, Spiritual Overflow, Bullet Lifesteal | Scales the Full Auto weapon window and sustains Wraith through expensive late duels. |
The current pro sample is a true hybrid. Quicksilver and Spirit support cards, Ricochet and Mercurial Magnum reward gun uptime, and lifesteal keeps Wraith alive long enough to finish the Telekinesis target or reach Project Mind safety.
This is a dated route, not a shopping script. Check the live Wraith pro-build sample, compare alternatives in the Deadlock builds guide, and use the items guide when the enemy composition demands a counter purchase.
Situational Purchases
- Buy Reactive Barrier when enemy control consistently lands before Wraith can teleport.
- Use Unstoppable when a decisive late Full Auto window must survive chained control.
- Choose debuff defense or Counterspell when Dispel Magic alone does not protect the pick sequence.
How To Play Wraith
Lane
Build cards by landing weapon damage and spend them where homing pressure can secure the trade or soul. Keep Project Mind available when the opposing lane can punish Wraith's low starting health.
Mid Game
Move with enough allied damage to convert Telekinesis. Lift the priority target, activate Full Auto, weave cards into the controlled window, and teleport only when a new angle or escape is actually required.
Teamfights
Wraith should not become the front line. Work a side angle, hold Telekinesis for the carry or critical interrupt, then unload while that enemy cannot respond and use Project Mind before the rest of the team collapses.
Late Game
A single lift can decide the fight, but a failed teleport can decide it the other way. Preserve vision, choose a target without immediate protection, and value surviving for a second card cycle over chasing a low target through the base.
Wraith Combos And Fight Patterns
- Standard pick: Telekinesis the priority target, activate Full Auto, fire while throwing stored cards, then Project Mind away from the response.
- Angle change: bank cards through lane or objective fire, teleport to a protected side angle, lift the exposed enemy, and spend the card stack during control.
- Defensive turn: Telekinesis the diver to interrupt and silence, create distance with Project Mind, then use Full Auto after the threat is displaced.
Wraith Strengths And Weaknesses

How To Counter Wraith
- Track whether Project Mind is available before committing movement or control.
- Use defensive actives during the Telekinesis and Full Auto window.
- Collapse from multiple angles after Wraith teleports aggressively.
- Pressure her low health before enough cards are stored.
- Keep the priority target within peel range so the lift does not create a free private duel.
Common Wraith Mistakes
- Teleporting into a fight before Telekinesis creates the window.
- Activating Full Auto while the target is leaving line of sight.
- Holding cards until the fight ends instead of layering them into control.
- Lifting a durable frontliner while the enemy carry remains free.
- Building pure damage without enough health or control protection.
Wraith Lore
Wraith controls a cornerstone of New York's gambling scene. Her organization is an open secret, but bribes, shakedowns, and blackmail have kept her comfortably above the law.

Wraith FAQ
Is Wraith beginner friendly?
Her listed complexity is 1 of 3. The abilities are readable, but good play still depends on saving Project Mind, choosing the correct Telekinesis target, and converting the control window.
What is the best Wraith build?
The current pro sample mixes card and weapon scaling: Quicksilver and Spirit early, Surge of Power and Ricochet in the core, then Mercurial Magnum and lifesteal.
Does Wraith Telekinesis interrupt abilities?
Yes. Current game data describes the lift as interrupting and silencing the enemy before the target is slammed toward the chosen location.
What counters Wraith?
Tracking Project Mind, defensive actives during the lift, multi-angle collapse, early health pressure, and keeping carries within peel range all reduce her isolated-target advantage.
Sources And Methodology
Hero type, complexity, starting stats, ability names, and ability descriptions were checked July 21, 2026 against the current Deadlock API asset data. That independent project parses the live game files; it is not Valve.
The meta snapshot comes from Tracklock’s standard hero table. The item package comes from its rolling 96-game Wraith pro sample, and the skill priority comes from completed normal matches on the July 9 patch. Tracklock says it captures a large proportion of matches, not every match. Pick rate, win rate, item frequency, and completed-build win rate answer different questions and must not be treated as interchangeable proof.
Valve’s July 9, 2026 update is the current official patch reference. Deadlock remains in active development, so recheck the live build and patch notes before copying a route into a later version.
