Mo & Krill Deadlock Guide (2026): Build, Abilities & Combo
Learn Mo & Krill abilities, the current Spirit build, skill priority, Burrow entries, Scorn sustain, Combo picks, and counterplay.
Entering beneath a firing line, emerging under a priority target, and holding that target still while allies finish the pick
Updated July 21, 2026: Mo & Krill are a high-complexity brawler with area damage and healing, protected underground movement, a cone disarm, and a channeled hold that can permanently increase maximum health.
Mo & Krill want to enter under pressure rather than walk through it. Burrow supplies speed and defenses, its emerge creates the opening, Sand Blast removes nearby weapon pressure, Scorn converts close contact into health, and Combo holds the chosen target long enough for the team to act.
Current meta snapshot: Tracklock’s standard-mode, all-rank table showed Mo & Krill at a 28.69% pick rate and 51.25% win rate when checked July 21. These numbers move as matches arrive; they explain why this guide exists, not what every future patch will look like.
Mo & Krill At A Glance
| Question | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Game-data type | Brawler |
| Practical role | Burrowing initiator, close-range sustain brawler, area disarm, and single-target channel controller |
| Complexity | 3 of 3 |
| Starting health | 930 |
| Move speed and stamina | 8.0 m/s and 3 stamina |
| Best at | Entering beneath a firing line, emerging under a priority target, and holding that target still while allies finish the pick |
| Main risk | Surfacing beyond allied reach or channeling Combo where another enemy can freely interrupt or punish the stationary pair |
Mo & Krill Abilities
| Slot | Ability | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Scorn | Damages nearby enemies and heals Mo & Krill, with a stronger heal when enemy heroes are hit. | Recover during a committed brawl, punish a clustered wave and hero, or stabilize immediately after emerging. |
| 2 | Burrow | Moves underground with extra speed and Spirit and bullet armor; hero damage reduces the speed. Emerging deals Spirit damage, slows, and knocks enemies up. | Cross a dangerous lane, approach from an unexpected route, or start beneath the target after allies are ready. |
| 3 | Sand Blast | Blasts a cone of sand that deals damage and disarms enemies. | Protect the Combo channel from weapon damage, shut down a carry after emerging, or peel several close attackers. |
| 4 | Combo | Channels a hold that stuns and damages one target. A hero killed during the channel or shortly after grants permanent maximum health. | Lock a priority target after movement is spent and when allies can secure the kill during the three-second reward window. |
The kit is durable but still sequencing-dependent. Burrow should deliver Mo & Krill to a fight the team can reach, Sand Blast should remove the most dangerous weapon response, and Combo should begin only after obvious interrupts are accounted for. Scorn then rewards staying near heroes instead of chasing into empty space.
Best Mo & Krill Ability Order
Tracklock’s largest completed skill-max route on the July 9 patch prioritized:
- Burrow
- Scorn
- Combo
- Sand Blast
This is the largest completed max-order route in the current standard-match sample. It prioritizes entry and mobility, then repeatable sustain. Combo remains central to picks and permanent-health growth even when its final upgrades arrive third.
Mo & Krill Build
| Stage | Current popular package | What it supports |
|---|---|---|
| Early | Mystic Burst, Quicksilver Reload, Cold Front, Sprint Boots | Adds Spirit burst and wave pressure while keeping the underground rotations and post-emerge weapon cycle moving. |
| Core | Healbane, Spirit Resilience, Torment Pulse, Compress Cooldown | Limits enemy recovery, protects close contact, and keeps Spirit pressure and the next ability cycle available. |
| Late | Superior Duration, Tankbuster, Superior Cooldown, Warp Stone | Improves the control window, pressures durable targets, shortens cooldowns, and creates a second entry or escape angle. |
Tracklock currently shows only 58 pro games for this rolling sample, so treat the item frequencies as directional. The coherent idea is a Spirit brawler who reaches the target, survives close contact, and repeats control. Healbane, Torment Pulse, duration, cooldown, and Warp Stone all support that job.
This is a dated route, not a shopping script. Check the live Mo & Krill pro-build sample, compare alternatives in the Deadlock builds guide, and use the items guide when the enemy composition demands a counter purchase.
Situational Purchases
- Buy Debuff Reducer when silence or control prevents Burrow from becoming a reliable exit.
- Use Knockdown when the team needs another interrupt before Mo & Krill can reach Combo range.
- Choose Colossus against a composition that must focus Mo & Krill during a long objective fight.
How To Play Mo & Krill
Lane
Use Scorn on both the opponent and wave when possible, but do not spend health just to force contact. Burrow can avoid a losing firing line or punish an overextended enemy; emerge where Sand Blast can disarm the return trade.
Mid Game
Approach from terrain that hides the Burrow path. Emerge under the exposed target, Sand Blast the strongest nearby weapon threat, and channel Combo only when allies are close enough to earn the kill and permanent-health window.
Teamfights
Burrow through the first projectile pressure and surface near the backline without abandoning the front. Scorn several heroes, disarm the main carry, and use Combo on the target whose removal changes the fight rather than the easiest tank to grab.
Late Game
Permanent health does not excuse a solo entry. Track enemy interrupts, keep Warp Stone or Burrow available for the second movement, and favor a protected channel that allies can convert over a spectacular hold in the middle of six enemies.
Mo & Krill Combos And Fight Patterns
- Standard entry: Burrow along cover, emerge under the target for knockup and slow, Sand Blast the response, then Combo while allies focus the held hero.
- Sustain brawl: emerge among several enemies, trigger Cold Front or Torment Pulse, use Scorn for hero healing, then reposition before the next Scorn cycle.
- Defensive peel: Sand Blast the weapon threat, Burrow beneath the pursuit, emerge to knock up the chase, then Combo the most dangerous diver if allied damage is ready.

How To Counter Mo & Krill
- Damage Burrow to reduce its movement advantage and predict the emerge point.
- Save an interrupt or displacement for the Combo channel.
- Spread enough that Scorn and emerge cannot hit the whole team.
- Use Spirit resistance and anti-heal during the close brawl.
- Force Mo & Krill to surface before the priority target commits.
Common Mo & Krill Mistakes
- Burrowing directly through vision with no alternate emerge point.
- Using Combo before enemy interrupts are spent.
- Chasing permanent health into a fight the team cannot reach.
- Casting Scorn away from enemy heroes and receiving the weaker recovery.
- Building only durability while cooldown and access remain unsolved.
Mo & Krill Lore
Maurice and Krill are Tunnel Rats who move illicit goods beneath the Cursed Apple. They are not merely smugglers: they protect the tunnel system and the hidden commerce that depends on it.

Sources And Methodology
Hero type, complexity, starting stats, ability names, and ability descriptions were checked July 21, 2026 against the current Deadlock API asset data. That independent project parses the live game files; it is not Valve.
The meta snapshot comes from Tracklock’s standard hero table. The item package comes from its rolling 58-game Mo & Krill pro sample, and the skill priority comes from completed normal matches on the July 9 patch. Tracklock says it captures a large proportion of matches, not every match. Pick rate, win rate, item frequency, and completed-build win rate answer different questions and must not be treated as interchangeable proof.
Valve’s July 9, 2026 update is the current official patch reference. Deadlock remains in active development, so recheck the live build and patch notes before copying a route into a later version.
