Victor Deadlock Guide (2026): Build, Abilities & Reanimation
Learn Victor abilities, the current Spirit build, skill priority, Pain Battery timing, Jumpstart, Aura of Suffering, Reanimation, and counterplay.
Turning incoming damage into a charged Pain Battery, sustaining through self-damage, and forcing enemies away from a lethal Reanimation point
Updated July 21, 2026: Victor is a medium-complexity brawler who stores incoming damage for a multi-target Spirit burst, hurts himself for regeneration and speed, channels an increasingly painful aura, and reanimates with an area stun after lethal damage.
Victor wants to be close enough for Aura of Suffering without donating health before the fight matters. Pain Battery rewards surviving damage, Jumpstart creates speed and regeneration at a cost, and Shocking Reanimation makes the death location dangerous. The kit is strongest when the enemy must either leave Victor alone or fight beside the resurrection.
Current meta snapshot: Tracklock’s standard-mode, all-rank table showed Victor at a 26.52% pick rate and 53.10% win rate when checked July 21. These numbers move as matches arrive; they explain why this guide exists, not what every future patch will look like.
Victor At A Glance
| Question | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Game-data type | Brawler |
| Practical role | Self-damaging Spirit brawler, proximity damage threat, stored-damage burst caster, and resurrection initiator |
| Complexity | 2 of 3 |
| Starting health | 800 |
| Move speed and stamina | 6.3 m/s and 3 stamina |
| Best at | Turning incoming damage into a charged Pain Battery, sustaining through self-damage, and forcing enemies away from a lethal Reanimation point |
| Main risk | Spending too much health on Jumpstart and Aura before the enemy has committed or reanimating in an area the opponent can safely wait around |
Victor Abilities
| Slot | Ability | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Pain Battery | Taking damage passively charges the battery. When full, activation fires multiple shocking bolts that deal Spirit damage once per target. | Absorb controlled pressure, then activate when several valuable targets are in range instead of wasting the charge on an empty lane. |
| 2 | Jumpstart | Deals Spirit damage to Victor, then grants bonus regeneration and movement speed that decay over time. | Prepare a committed entry or escape when the regeneration has time to repay the health cost. |
| 3 | Aura of Suffering | Channels Spirit damage over time to Victor and nearby enemies, increasing the longer the channel continues. | Stay beside several enemies after movement is spent and cancel or leave when self-damage becomes more dangerous than the remaining payoff. |
| 4 | Shocking Reanimation | After lethal damage, releases a slowing wave, then channels a reanimation that damages and stuns nearby enemies. | Die where allies can punish enemies who wait nearby and where the revived Victor still has a route into or out of the fight. |
Victor constantly trades health for position and pressure. Jumpstart and Aura can make a strong engage stronger, but they can also lower Victor into enemy burst. Pain Battery needs damage to charge, while Reanimation makes the final location matter as much as the first life. Healing and resistance create time for those mechanics to work.
Best Victor Ability Order
Tracklock’s largest completed skill-max route on the July 9 patch prioritized:
- Pain Battery
- Shocking Reanimation
- Jumpstart
- Aura of Suffering
This is the largest completed max-order route in the current standard-match sample. It prioritizes the stored-damage burst, then the second-life teamfight threat. Jumpstart and Aura remain important at base value even when their final upgrades arrive later.
Victor Build
| Stage | Current popular package | What it supports |
|---|---|---|
| Early | Extra Spirit, Extra Regen, Torment Pulse, High-Velocity Rounds | Adds Spirit pressure and recovery while giving Victor useful damage during the first close-range trades. |
| Core | Enduring Speed, Mystic Expansion, Warp Stone, Spirit Lifesteal | Improves access, area coverage, movement through slows, and recovery during the sustained Spirit brawl. |
| Late | Greater Expansion, Mystic Vulnerability, Escalating Exposure, Ethereal Shift | Scales broad Spirit pressure and adds a defensive timing tool before a dangerous health threshold. |
Tracklock currently shows 65 pro games in this rolling sample, so exact frequencies are directional. The route supports a Spirit brawler who must remain close without collapsing to self-damage: regeneration and Torment Pulse first, then movement, lifesteal, expansion, vulnerability, exposure, and an emergency defensive active.
This is a dated route, not a shopping script. Check the live Victor pro-build sample, compare alternatives in the Deadlock builds guide, and use the items guide when the enemy composition demands a counter purchase.
Situational Purchases
- Buy Healing Booster when regeneration and Spirit lifesteal are consistently deciding the second half of the fight.
- Use Debuff Reducer when slows or control prevent Victor from reaching an effective Aura position.
- Choose Spirit Resilience against burst that kills Victor before Pain Battery and recovery can generate value.
How To Play Victor
Lane
Do not use Jumpstart simply because it is available. Spend the health when movement or regeneration will win a real trade. Let manageable damage charge Pain Battery, then activate near both the opponent and wave when possible while Torment Pulse adds close pressure.
Mid Game
Use Enduring Speed and Warp Stone to reach several enemies without channeling Aura across empty ground. Jumpstart before the committed window, trigger the charged Battery, and remain close only while Spirit lifesteal and regeneration can cover the self-damage.
Teamfights
Enter where a lethal outcome leaves Shocking Reanimation beside the objective and allied damage. Aura through the grouped fight, but watch the health cost. If Victor falls, allies should punish anyone waiting at the reanimation point while enemies are slowed.
Late Game
A second life is not useful when it revives into six prepared enemies. Choose the death location, track displacement and anti-heal, and use Ethereal Shift or movement to delay lethal damage until the team can use the stun.
Victor Combos And Fight Patterns
- Committed brawl: activate Jumpstart, Warp Stone or run into range, channel Aura of Suffering, fire Pain Battery when charged, then use lifesteal and regeneration to hold position.
- Objective reanimation: fight beside allied area damage, spend the first life forcing enemies to move, trigger the lethal wave, and reanimate where the stun either catches the group or clears the objective.
- Defensive timing: use Ethereal Shift before burst reaches lethal, let regeneration and cooldowns advance, then resume Aura or reposition so a later Reanimation occurs near allies.

How To Counter Victor
- Apply anti-heal before Victor begins the sustained brawl.
- Disengage from Aura of Suffering instead of feeding its increasing damage.
- Move away from the Reanimation area and return after the stun.
- Burst after Victor spends health on Jumpstart and Aura.
- Use displacement so a lethal Victor falls away from allies and the objective.
Common Victor Mistakes
- Using Jumpstart when no movement or regeneration value follows.
- Channeling Aura while enemies are already leaving range.
- Activating Pain Battery with only an unimportant target nearby.
- Treating Reanimation as permission to die anywhere.
- Ignoring anti-heal and expecting Spirit lifesteal to cover every health cost.
Victor Lore
Victor woke on a mortuary table with no memory of a creator, a purpose, or even whose body parts compose him. He searches the five boroughs for anyone who can identify a piece of him and explain why he exists.

Victor FAQ
What is the best Victor build?
The current small pro sample emphasizes Spirit power, regeneration, Torment Pulse, movement, Warp Stone, Spirit lifesteal, expansion, vulnerability, and exposure.
How does Victor Shocking Reanimation work?
After lethal damage Victor releases a slowing wave, channels briefly, then reanimates with Spirit damage and a stun around him.
What should Victor max first?
The largest completed current route maxes Pain Battery, then Shocking Reanimation, Jumpstart, and Aura of Suffering.
What counters Victor?
Anti-heal, disengaging from Aura, leaving the resurrection point, bursting after health costs, and displacement reduce Victor's sustained pressure.
Sources And Methodology
Hero type, complexity, starting stats, ability names, and ability descriptions were checked July 21, 2026 against the current Deadlock API asset data. That independent project parses the live game files; it is not Valve.
The meta snapshot comes from Tracklock’s standard hero table. The item package comes from its rolling 65-game Victor pro sample, and the skill priority comes from completed normal matches on the July 9 patch. Tracklock says it captures a large proportion of matches, not every match. Pick rate, win rate, item frequency, and completed-build win rate answer different questions and must not be treated as interchangeable proof.
Valve’s July 9, 2026 update is the current official patch reference. Deadlock remains in active development, so recheck the live build and patch notes before copying a route into a later version.
