Abrams Deadlock Guide (2026): Build, Abilities & Combos
Learn Abrams abilities, the current sustain build, skill priority, Shoulder Charge wall stuns, melee combos, Seismic Impact, and counterplay.
Absorbing the first response, carrying one enemy into a wall, and sustaining through a close teamfight
Updated July 21, 2026: Abrams is a low-complexity brawler with high sustain, a life-draining cone, a charge that carries enemies into walls, passive regeneration from damage taken, and a leaping area stun.
Abrams can lead from the front, but his strongest control still depends on terrain. Shoulder Charge needs a wall for the stun, Siphon Life needs nearby bodies, Infernal Resilience rewards surviving the initial focus, and Seismic Impact is most valuable when allies can use the landing stun.
Current meta snapshot: Tracklock’s standard-mode, all-rank table showed Abrams at a 35.02% pick rate and 50.74% win rate when checked July 21. These numbers move as matches arrive; they explain why this guide exists, not what every future patch will look like.
Abrams At A Glance
| Question | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Game-data type | Brawler |
| Practical role | Front-line brawler, wall-stun initiator, sustain tank, and area-control teamfight starter |
| Complexity | 1 of 3 |
| Starting health | 800 |
| Move speed and stamina | 6.4 m/s and 3 stamina |
| Best at | Absorbing the first response, carrying one enemy into a wall, and sustaining through a close teamfight |
| Main risk | Charging through open space without a wall angle or assuming temporary regeneration makes Abrams impossible to burst |
Abrams Abilities
| Slot | Ability | What it does | How to use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Siphon Life | Drains nearby enemies for Spirit damage over time and heals Abrams for part of the damage dealt. | Sustain inside a clustered fight, pressure a trapped target, and recover while blocking space for the backline. |
| 2 | Shoulder Charge | Charges forward and carries enemies hit; colliding a hero with a wall stuns them, and hitting a hero increases Abrams' movement during the charge. | Create a wall stun, remove a diver from allies, or carry one priority target into a prepared follow-up. |
| 3 | Infernal Resilience | Passively grants defensive attributes and converts a portion of incoming damage into temporary regeneration. | Stay present through the first focus window, then protect enough health and time for the regeneration to matter. |
| 4 | Seismic Impact | Leaps high before crashing into the chosen area for Spirit damage and a stun. | Start a grouped fight, follow allied control, cross terrain, or interrupt enemies threatening the backline. |
Abrams is durable, not automatic. His regeneration takes time, Siphon Life needs targets nearby, and the charge becomes real control only at a wall. The ideal entry lands a stun, lets allies add damage, then uses sustain while the enemy's first cooldowns are unavailable.
Best Abrams Ability Order
Tracklock’s largest completed skill-max route on the July 9 patch prioritized:
- Shoulder Charge
- Siphon Life
- Seismic Impact
- Infernal Resilience
The largest completed route maxes Shoulder Charge first, followed by Siphon Life and Seismic Impact. Infernal Resilience remains valuable from its base level; the current route prioritizes active pick creation before its final passive upgrades.
Abrams Build
| Stage | Current popular package | What it supports |
|---|---|---|
| Early | Extra Regen, Spirit Strike, Melee Charge, Arcane Surge | Keeps Abrams healthy in lane and rewards the melee follow-up after landing close-range control. |
| Core | Spirit Snatch, Dispel Magic, Bullet Resist Shredder, Warp Stone | Improves close contact, removes defensive effects, supports allied weapon damage, and creates a better wall-stun angle. |
| Late | Superior Duration, Phantom Strike, Greater Expansion, Scourge | Extends control and sustain windows, adds reliable access, and increases Abrams' influence over a late teamfight. |
The current pro sample is a control-and-sustain route with melee support. Early regeneration and Spirit Strike stabilize the lane, while Spirit Snatch, duration, expansion, Warp Stone, and Phantom Strike make the important wall stun more reliable than a damage-only build would.
This is a dated route, not a shopping script. Check the live Abrams pro-build sample, compare alternatives in the Deadlock builds guide, and use the items guide when the enemy composition demands a counter purchase.
Situational Purchases
- Buy Healing Booster when the enemy cannot easily apply anti-heal and Siphon Life is consistently hitting several heroes.
- Use Plated Armor, Spirit Resilience, or another direct defense against the damage type that cuts through regeneration.
- Choose Return Fire when Abrams is absorbing sustained weapon focus and can remain close enough to make the reflection matter.
How To Play Abrams
Lane
Use regeneration to keep trades manageable, but do not donate health for no objective. Stand where a short Shoulder Charge can reach a wall, then melee and Siphon Life after the stun rather than chasing through the whole lane.
Mid Game
Rotate early enough to choose the terrain. Warp Stone or natural cover creates the angle, Shoulder Charge pins the target, and Siphon Life sustains Abrams while allies convert the pick.
Teamfights
Seismic Impact should land where teammates can immediately act. After the stun, carry a priority enemy toward a wall or peel a diver away, then remain among enough targets for Siphon Life without abandoning the team.
Late Game
A front-line death is still a lost life even when it absorbs damage. Enter with a clear wall, target, and defensive plan; use Phantom Strike or Warp Stone to improve the setup, not to outrun every ally.
Abrams Combos And Fight Patterns
- Wall stun: approach from an angle, Shoulder Charge the target into terrain, heavy melee during the stun, then Siphon Life while maintaining close pressure.
- Teamfight start: Seismic Impact the grouped enemy, reposition toward the priority target, charge that hero into a wall, then drain the nearby group.
- Peel: charge the diver away from an ally and into terrain, use the stun for a melee follow-up, then hold the front while regeneration recovers the trade.
Abrams Strengths And Weaknesses

How To Counter Abrams
- Fight away from walls and narrow corridors when Shoulder Charge is ready.
- Apply anti-heal before focusing Abrams so Siphon Life and regeneration recover less.
- Disengage through his first sustain window rather than feeding several nearby targets.
- Save mobility for after Shoulder Charge begins.
- Spread enough that Seismic Impact cannot start on the entire team.
Common Abrams Mistakes
- Charging in open space with no wall collision available.
- Treating temporary regeneration as immediate healing.
- Using Seismic Impact before allies are close enough to follow.
- Standing near only one durable target when Siphon Life could affect a group.
- Building sustain while ignoring the enemy's anti-heal and damage profile.
Abrams Lore
Detective Abrams built a reputation by solving cases from stolen art to ritual murder. His ordinary work ended when a mysterious book called the Tome appeared on his desk with a warning written in onyx blood: do not let them have it.

Abrams FAQ
What is the best Abrams build?
The current pro sample combines early regeneration and melee support, Spirit Snatch and utility in the core, then duration, access, expansion, and Spirit-resistance pressure.
How does Abrams Shoulder Charge stun?
Abrams carries enemies hit by the charge. Pushing an enemy hero into a wall applies the stun, so terrain and approach angle are essential.
What should Abrams max first?
The largest completed current route maxes Shoulder Charge, then Siphon Life, Seismic Impact, and Infernal Resilience.
What counters Abrams?
Open-space positioning, anti-heal, disengaging from Siphon Life, saved mobility, and spread positioning against Seismic Impact reduce his sustain and control.
Sources And Methodology
Hero type, complexity, starting stats, ability names, and ability descriptions were checked July 21, 2026 against the current Deadlock API asset data. That independent project parses the live game files; it is not Valve.
The meta snapshot comes from Tracklock’s standard hero table. The item package comes from its rolling 169-game Abrams pro sample, and the skill priority comes from completed normal matches on the July 9 patch. Tracklock says it captures a large proportion of matches, not every match. Pick rate, win rate, item frequency, and completed-build win rate answer different questions and must not be treated as interchangeable proof.
Valve’s July 9, 2026 update is the current official patch reference. Deadlock remains in active development, so recheck the live build and patch notes before copying a route into a later version.
