Short answer: Mini Turret is McGinnis’s deployable pressure engine. She places a temporary turret that shoots enemies, deals reduced damage to troopers and objectives, and becomes much nastier when you manage charges, angles, range, and cooldowns instead of dumping it in the open.

Current Mechanics
The current Mini Turret values should be read through Valve’s June 11, 2026 patch. The ability now sits at 24 base turret DPS with 0.42 spirit scaling, after the official rescale from 30+0.39 to 24+0.42. Current guide data lists 1 charge, 20m cast range, 18s cooldown, 30m attack range, and 35s lifetime.
That means Mini Turret is less about one panic drop and more about area control. A turret in open lane is a donation. A turret behind cover, on a hard angle, or protecting a rotate makes the enemy spend attention before they get to spend health.
Upgrade Path
- 1 AP: +10 turret DPS and +10m attack range.
- 2 AP: +2 charges.
- 5 AP: +25 percent turret fire rate and +12s turret lifetime.
The T2 charge spike is the identity breakpoint. One turret annoys. Several turrets create a room nobody wants to enter. The T3 fire-rate value was trimmed on June 11, but the lifetime still makes sustained nests oppressive when the fight stays in your chosen space.
Key Patch Changes
Valve’s Gameplay Update – 03-06-2026 reworked Mini Turret heavily: base duration went from 24s to 35s, tracking and projectile behavior improved, base health and health growth were reduced, melee resistance was added, and all three upgrades changed.
Valve’s Gameplay Update – 04-30-2026 changed Mini Turret bounty from 80 + 2 per minute to 40 + 4 per minute and fixed turrets locking onto invulnerable objectives.
Valve’s Minor Update – 06-11-2026 rescaled Mini Turret DPS from 30+0.39 to 24+0.42, with Valve noting the break-even at 200 spirit power, and reduced the T3 fire-rate upgrade from +30 percent to +25 percent.
How To Use It
Place turrets where enemies are already looking somewhere else. Corners, stairs, veils, rooftops, objective entrances, and retreat paths all matter more than raw distance. The best turret is the one an enemy notices after it has already started the tax audit.
AndrewChicken’s March 14, 2026 post-rework McGinnis guide leans into the new priority logic: Medicinal Specter and Spectral Wall no longer carry their old max-first incentives, while turrets still produce a huge chunk of McGinnis’s practical damage. Counterplay
Clear turrets before you commit, especially if McGinnis has T2 charges. Do not chase her through a prepared room, and do not clump around a turret nest where Spectral Wall can turn your exit into architecture. Area damage, quick focus fire, and refusing bad terrain are the clean answers.
