McGinnis Medicinal Specter In Deadlock: Current Heal, Upgrade Path, And Support Value
McGinnis Medicinal Specter is her team sustain button, with March, April, and May changes reshaping its scaling and radius.
Medicinal Specter is McGinnis installing a clinic in the middle of the argument.
Short answer: Medicinal Specter is McGinnis’s area sustain tool. She deploys a spirit that heals nearby allies, then upgrades it into spirit resistance, lower cooldown, stamina recovery, and max-health regeneration for longer fights.

Medicinal Specter McGinnis deploys a healing spirit that sustains allies in an area, then upgrades it for spirit resist, stamina recovery, and max-health regen. |
Current Mechanics
Deadlock.one’s current McGinnis data lists Medicinal Specter with 15m cast range, 50s cooldown, 6.5s duration, +25/sec health regen with 0.3 spirit scaling, and a 6m heal radius.
The important part is that Medicinal Specter is not just “green circle, stand here.” It is McGinnis buying time for a position she already wants to hold. If your team leaves the area instantly, the spell loses its punch. If the fight stays there, it turns a turret nest into a small problem with benefits.
Upgrade Path
- 1 AP: Specter provides +40 percent spirit resistance.
- 2 AP: -20s cooldown and +100 percent stamina recovery.
- 5 AP: +2 percent max health regen per second, +3m heal radius, and +1.5s duration.
T1 makes the area safer into spirit pressure. T2 makes the ability far more available and helps allies keep moving. T3 is the big drawn-out-fight upgrade: bigger space, longer uptime, and regeneration that scales with health pools.
Key Patch Changes
Valve’s Gameplay Update – 03-06-2026 changed Medicinal Specter hard: duration and radius stopped scaling with spirit power, regen gained +0.3 spirit scaling, cooldown increased from 48s to 50s, the base stamina recovery bonus was removed, T1 became +40 percent spirit resistance, T2 became -20s cooldown plus +100 percent stamina recovery, and T3 was reshaped around max-health regen, radius, and duration.
Valve’s Gameplay Update – 04-30-2026 increased Medicinal Specter duration from 6s to 6.5s.
Valve’s Gameplay Update – 05-22-2026 increased Medicinal Specter radius from 5.5m to 6m.
How To Use It
Drop Medicinal Specter where your team is about to stay, not where you wish they had stayed. It is strongest around entrenched turret positions, objective fights, base defense, and extended urn fights where bodies keep cycling through the same contested space.
Vegas’s June 6, 2026 tier-list discussion calls out max-two and max-three McGinnis as something he wants to see more in extended urn fights, specifically because big area healing and wall zoning still matter. AndrewChicken’s March 14 post-rework guide also treats Medicinal Specter as useful after the rework, but no longer as the old fire-rate-first reason to delay turret investment.
Counterplay
Do not brawl McGinnis inside her clinic unless you are forcing a kill. Pull the fight out of the radius, pressure the teammates who step forward to use it, and buy anti-heal when the sustain is the reason her team keeps surviving resets.
Lore And Context
McGinnis is not a soft support. She is an inventor who makes a location worse for the enemy and better for her team. Medicinal Specter fits that perfectly: a field repair station with occult lighting and terrible workplace boundaries.
