Short answer: Power Surge powers Seven’s weapon with a shock effect. His bullets proc shock damage on the target, and that damage bounces to nearby enemies once per burst shot.

Current Mechanics
Deadlock.one’s current Seven data lists Power Surge with a 50-second cooldown, 10-second duration, 10 damage on jump, 10 shock damage with 0.1 spirit scaling, 4 max jumps, and a 10m jump radius. In plain English: Seven turns gun pressure into nearby spirit pressure.
That makes Power Surge one of the reasons Seven remains such an easy hero to understand from tracker data and such an annoying hero to actually stand near. The ability rewards clean target focus, but it also punishes enemies who clump close enough for shock damage to travel.
Upgrade Path
- 1 AP: reduce cooldown by 18 seconds.
- 2 AP: gain +3m move speed, +8 damage, and increased scaling.
- 5 AP: gain +10s duration and apply -15 percent Spirit Resist.
The 1 AP upgrade makes the button available more often. The 2 AP upgrade adds chase and damage. The 5 AP upgrade is the big scaling hook: longer uptime and Spirit Resist reduction mean Seven’s gun pressure starts setting up the rest of his electric kit.
The June 11 Nerf
Valve’s official Minor Update – 06-11-2026 reduced Seven’s Power Surge T3 from +12 seconds duration to +10 seconds. The same patch reduced Seven’s bullet damage growth from 0.337 to 0.24.
That is not a deletion. It is a trim. Power Surge still extends Seven’s pressure window, but the top-end duration is lower than it was before June 11, and the bullet-growth hit matters for gun-pressure builds that wanted every part of Seven’s kit to scale at once.
How To Use It
Use Power Surge when Seven can keep shooting. That sounds obvious, but it is the point. If the enemy can immediately break line of sight, stun Seven, or disengage out of jump range, the ability spends more time looking impressive than being useful.
It is best when enemies are near each other, when your team can hold targets in place, or when Static Charge forces awkward movement while Seven keeps firing. The ability does not need a five-person highlight clip to matter. A clean bounce sequence through two or three targets can be enough to tilt a fight.
Counterplay
Spread, break line of sight, and respect Seven’s uptime window. If Power Surge is active, do not hand him a neat chain of nearby bodies. Spirit Resist and anti-burst choices can help, but the first layer of counterplay is spacing.
Lore Context
Seven’s lore frames him as a condemned man who came back wrong and stronger. Power Surge is the kit’s most direct version of that arrogance: even the bullets get ideas above their station.
