Holliday Crackshot In Deadlock: How Headshot Damage, Slow, And Cooldown Resets Work
Holliday 3 is Crackshot, the headshot passive that adds bonus damage, a fading slow, and cooldown refunds on accurate shots.
Crackshot is Holliday asking whether your aim is part of the build or just decoration.
Short answer: Crackshot rewards Holliday headshots with bonus bullet damage and a fading move speed penalty when the ability is off cooldown. NPC headshots refund half the cooldown, and later upgrades refund even more.

Current Mechanics
Deadlock.one’s current Holliday data lists Crackshot with a 0.15-second cast delay, 20-second cooldown, -1.0-second charge delay, 2m explosion radius, 55 damage with 1.1 bullet scaling, and a -50 percent fading move speed penalty for 2 seconds.
Crackshot ignores range damage fall-off and does not apply to objectives. That distinction matters: it is a player and NPC pressure tool, not a free objective-melting button.
Upgrade Path
- 1 AP: adds -25 percent fading move speed.
- 2 AP: +49.5 damage.
- 5 AP: -6s cooldown on hero headshots and -3s on NPC headshots.
The first upgrade makes the target easier to keep in Holliday’s follow-up lane. The second makes accurate shots hit harder. The final upgrade rewards repeated precision instead of one lucky click.
Key Patch Changes
No direct Crackshot change appeared in the official June 11, May 22, or April 30, 2026 notes checked for this guide. The broader Holliday context did shift on May 22, when Valve increased her base bullet damage from 18.8 to 19.7 and health regen from 1 to 2 in the Gameplay Update – 05-22-2026.
How To Use It
Crackshot is the ability that makes Holliday’s gun matter between barrel setups. Play around the cooldown, line up headshots after Bounce Pad disruption or Powder Keg knockup, and use NPC hits to keep the cooldown moving while farming.
Older Holliday guides consistently frame her as aim-gated. SwoleBenji’s March 16, 2026 build guide says the hero asks for strong headshot aim, while DedLocko’s hero breakdown presents the kit as lasso, barrels, jump pads, and headshots working together. That is still the clean read: Crackshot is not isolated damage, it is what happens when the setup actually gives Holliday a head.
Counterplay
Deny clean head angles. Break line of sight after Holliday spends Bounce Pad or Powder Keg, and do not walk predictably while Crackshot is ready. If she misses the headshot window, the ability goes back to being a cooldown instead of a threat.
Lore And Context
Crackshot is the sheriff fantasy without the costume department. Holliday was a trick shooter before New York became her problem, and this passive turns that backstory into a mechanical demand: hit the shot or lose the value.
