Graves Grasping Hands In Deadlock: How The Wall, Ghoul, And Immobilize Work
Graves 2 is Grasping Hands, a line-wall control spell that summons a Ghoul, leaves a rift, and turns pathing into a trap.
Grasping Hands is Graves making the ground enforce social distancing.
Short answer: Grasping Hands unearths a line of hands, summons a Ghoul, and leaves a rift. Enemies who pass through take spirit damage and receive immobilize. Alt-cast rotates the wall orientation.

Grasping Hands Graves raises a line of grasping hands, summons a Ghoul, leaves a rift, and immobilizes enemies who pass through. |
Current Mechanics
Deadlock.one’s current Graves data lists Grasping Hands with 24m cast range, a 34-second cooldown, 5-second duration, 0.75m radius, 0.5-second debuff duration, 40 percent move speed, 1-second tether duration, 2.5m wall height, 14m wall length, 1 Ghoul raised, 90 damage with 1.6 spirit scaling, and 1.25-second immobilize duration.
This is Graves’ cleanest pathing spell. The wall can block a line, threaten a rotation, force a dodge, or punish anyone trying to walk through the wrong patch of ground while the rest of her kit is already making noise.
Upgrade Path
- 1 AP: gain +2s duration.
- 2 AP: gain +90 damage and +10m wall length.
- 5 AP: gain +1 Ghoul raised, -10s cooldown, and +0.75s immobilize duration.
The 2 AP upgrade makes placement much more threatening because the wall gets longer and hits harder. The 5 AP upgrade is still serious, but the immobilize portion is lower than it was before June 11.
The June 11 Nerf
Valve’s official Minor Update – 06-11-2026 reduced Grasping Hands T3 immobilize duration from +1 second to +0.75 seconds. That does not remove the upgrade, but it does trim the top-end catch window.
In practical terms, Graves still gets the extra Ghoul and cooldown reduction at 5 AP. The difference is that enemies have a slightly less miserable sentence when the upgraded wall catches them.
How To Use It
Use Grasping Hands where the enemy wants to walk next, not where they stood three seconds ago. The wall is strongest across lane exits, around objectives, and in tight spaces where a rotation has to cross the rift.
Alt-cast matters. Rotating the wall turns the spell from a generic line into a real geometry tool. A good Graves cast can split a fight, set up Jar of Dead pressure, or force the target to run through enough bad decisions that the rest of her team gets paid.
Counterplay
Respect the orientation and avoid walking through the rift unless the trade is worth it. If Graves misses the placement or spends it only for damage, her control window is gone until cooldown. Mobility and patience both help; panic pathing is how the hands get promoted.
