Victor Aura Of Suffering In Deadlock: How The Self-Damage Aura And June 11 Radius Nerf Work
Victor 3 is Aura of Suffering, the self-damaging ramp aura that lost radius in the June 11 patch but gained radius back on T3.
Aura of Suffering is Victor making proximity a mutual problem.
Short answer: Aura of Suffering makes Victor channel pain around himself, dealing spirit damage over time to both enemies and Victor. The damage ramps the longer the ability is channeled, up to a maximum.

Aura of Suffering Victor channels an aura that damages enemies and himself, ramping up over time until it reaches maximum damage. |
Current Mechanics
Deadlock.one’s current Victor data lists Aura of Suffering with a 2.0-second cooldown, 8-second duration, 0.5-second debuff duration, 8m radius, 13 minimum DPS with 0.2 scaling, 58 max DPS with 0.7 scaling, and 70 percent self damage.
This is the core Victor question: can he stay close enough to make the aura hurt the enemy more than it hurts him? If yes, the ability is terrifying. If no, Victor is simply paying health to be dramatic in the wrong room.
Upgrade Path
- 1 AP: enemies receive 25 percent move and dash slow.
- 2 AP: gain +6 min DPS and +34 max DPS.
- 5 AP: gain +1m radius and enemies take +15 percent damage.
The first upgrade helps keep enemies inside the pain. The second improves the damage curve. The 5 AP upgrade now matters twice: it adds the damage amp and, after June 11, adds radius back.
The June 11 Change
Valve’s official Minor Update – 06-11-2026 reduced Aura of Suffering radius from 9m to 8m, changed T3 so it also increases radius by +1m, and fixed client performance issues when using the ability.
That is a real shape change. Base Aura of Suffering is smaller than before, while upgraded Aura of Suffering can recover some of that space at the top end. Current Deadlock.one data reflects the 8m base radius and +1m T3 radius.
How To Use It
Use Aura of Suffering when Victor has a way to stay attached. Jumpstart movement, Pain Battery slow, teammate control, and tight map geometry all help. Open space is less friendly; the enemy can simply leave and let Victor enjoy his private suffering by himself.
Rejuv’s February 21, 2026 guide treats Aura as the mid- and late-fight button Victor wants active while brawling, but that advice only works if he can stay in contact. Dead Air’s Victor spotlight points to close-quarters and Mid Boss-style spaces as natural homes for the aura because enemies have less room to simply walk the pain off.
The ability wants discipline. Turning it on too early burns Victor before the enemy is committed. Turning it on too late can mean the ramp never reaches the part that scares anyone. After the June 11 radius trim, this is even less forgiving at base level.
Counterplay
Leave the radius, break Victor’s timing, and punish the self-damage. If Victor has not invested into T3, the June 11 radius trim gives you a little more breathing room than old guides may imply.
Long range and kiting are the clean answers. A Victor who cannot force bodies to stay inside 8m is doing your job for you by burning his own health.
Lore And Context
Aura of Suffering turns Victor’s body horror into space control. The ability sells the character as a walking problem: the closer he gets, the more his damage, decay, and electricity spill into everyone nearby.
